Guest Sabita Singh did a presentation on Becoming a LinkedIn All Star at the meeting of November 18. Sabita’s company Trivetta Consulting provides services on how to better use and take advantage of LinkedIn. She also helps people with their LinkedIn profiles.

She explained that LinkedIn has specific criteria for the status of ‘all star’ and proceeded to describe them. They include effective use of your profile picture, summary, experience, education, skills (at least five should be listed), industry and location, and connections. Also, testimonials can add to your LinkedIn presence.

Sabita listed five important steps in how to become a leader on LinkedIn. They involve the following:

1. Like, command and share content
2. Add insight
3. Create your own content
4. Join groups
5. Cultivate your connections and customize your message.
