Member Presentations

At the September 17 meeting Sandra D’Souza and Jonathan Brindley did presentations about their services and the kinds of clients they are looking for.

Sandra, an accountant by training, started her recruiting business Sandstone in 2013. Her services include sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates for both permanent and contract positions. While her client base is heavy on professional and financial services firms, she also has experience working with manufacturers, media, and not-for-profit groups. Sandra is busiest in the salaried area of $70,000-$100,000 positions, and ideal clients  would be smaller organizations with no HR staff, any organization that sees the value of a recruiter, and a company looking to set up an independent review board.

Jonathan earned his Chartered Accountant designation in both the United Kingdom and Canada. He runs one of the most successful franchises for Liquid Capital. He provides services involving factoring, which is a method that allows organizations immediate access to their receivables. However, factoring is still under-utilized in Canada as the business community is largely not aware of this option that is available, so there is substantial potential for growth. Jonathan went into the business full-time in 2013 and has enjoyed great success. He targets B2B clients that do anywhere from $500,000 to $35 million a year. An ideal prospect would be a company that is under-capitalized, may have a tax issue with the Canada Revenue Agency, or has been turned down by a bank.
